CYRO hosted a Structured Dialogue between Youth, Elders and Decision-Makers, bringing together youth, elders, religious leaders and local government officials to openly discuss issues affecting their community.

CYRO delivered a half-day training on Peacebuilding, Conflict Resolution and Negotiation Skills for 10 youth participants, concluding with the formation of a Youth Peace Circle that meets bi-monthly as ambassadors of peace in their community.
Implemented under the Conciliation Resources fund, supported by Irish Aid.

Part of our commitment to building peaceful and resilient communities, this training enhanced participants' capacity in:

Over 48 youth from the Somali Region and border woredas took part in intensive sessions on the UN Youth, Peace & Security (YPS) Agenda, leadership and conflict sensitivity. Using the "Do No Harm" approach, participants explored the five YPS pillars and developed practical policy recommendations — with standout youth recognized for leadership and commitment to peace.

An engaging session bringing together youth from Awbare, Harshin and Jigjiga, members of Youth Peace Circles and other youth leaders. Participants shared real experiences from border woredas, discussed conflict drivers, and proposed practical solutions to strengthen youth inclusion in the SRS Peace Architecture.

A transformative two-day training equipping staff and local partners with essential skills to identify, respond to, and support individuals experiencing mental health challenges — expanding the reach and quality of community-based psychological first aid.

CYRO participated in a workshop reviewing and developing a magazine initiated by Conciliation Resources, to be published by the Somali Region Victims Network — spotlighting the voices and experiences of victims in the region. The team also visited Jail Ogaden to gather firsthand information on detainee conditions, ensuring the accuracy and credibility of the stories to be published.

CYRO participated in and facilitated the Inclusive Youth Dialogue for Peace and Development (IYD4PD) workshop, in collaboration with YBUNTU Youth Peacebuilding Alliance and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES). More than 50 youth representatives worked on drafting the Somali Youth Agenda — a youth-driven vision for peace, development and inclusion.
